Alex is a passionate educator who specializes in helping students uncover and tell their personal stories with clarity, confidence, and authenticity. A first-generation college student and Posse Foundation full-tuition scholar, she earned a B.A. in Philosophy from Hamilton College, where she served as a peer advisor and led the Media Board, supporting student publications and creative expression. After graduation, Alex tutored students in SAT and ACT prep and focused on helping applicants craft thoughtful, compelling college essays. She also served as a counselor at a University of Pennsylvania summer program, where she mentored a cohort of high school students from around the world on course selection and college list building.
In her current role, Alex partners closely with our founder, Jen Kaifesh, serving as a dedicated essay specialist for Jen's clients and the wider department to provide high-touch, personalized guidance. She has worked with students from diverse backgrounds, including first-generation, multilingual, and international students, and has long led workshops on FAFSA, scholarships, and financial aid to promote equitable access to higher education. Known for her attentive, student-centered approach, Alex builds trust and helps students translate their values, experiences, and aspirations into narratives that resonate with admissions officers while staying true to who they are.
