She earned her BM and MM with honors from the University of Southern California Thornton School of Music and is passionate about helping students find their voice and unlock their potential. She is known for mentoring music students through the complex process of college applications, and her expertise lies in audition coaching and helping students make a strong impression, whether it’s in a prescreen recording or personal statement.
She has both performed and conducted at Walt Disney Concert Hall, and serves as a teaching artist with the Youth Orchestra of Los Angeles, a program that provides cost-free instruments, education, and college support to students. In addition to her nonprofit work, Deanna is an adjunct professor of music, helping first-generation college students find their place in the music industry and beyond.
